The atmosphere of a restaurant sets the stage for how you experience the food. The Emory Village location for Sankranti Kitchen is all about the rich flavors and textures that make the food so good. Their focus is to bring together the enormous abundance of Indian cuisine into one place and to make it accessible to the public. The design consists of a variety of layers encountered all at once in order to make this flavor experience into a spatial one as well. We worked with Vigor Branding to give the space vibrant colors and subtle textures which compliment each other and create a space that reflects the menu.

The main dining space is fun, inviting, and brings the focus to the food. The original design features a wooden “kite wall” that nods to the traditional kites which are flown during the traditional Indian festival of Sankranti. The light pendants are custom made from hammered bronze bowls.
